Hello!
I’m Daria Kharchenko, a fine art dog photographer based in Cascais, Portugal. I specialize in creating timeless images that celebrate the beauty, soul, and unique character of dogs.
Inspired by my Japanese wolf Kiba, classic film photography, and the quiet magic of everyday life, I create images that feel light, serene, and deeply personal. Each photograph I craft tells a story, with dogs as the main characters in a poetic cinematic world.
Whether capturing a tranquil walk, the bond between pets and their people, or a delicately tailored brand campaign, my goal is to create timeless art that reflects the essence of your story with a refined and personal approach.
My Philosophy
Photography, for me, is much more than a craft — it’s a way to honor the pure beauty and deep emotions that dogs bring into our lives. As both an artist and a dog owner, I believe dogs are more than companions. They are family, trusted friends, and soulful beings who fill our lives with their unconditional love.
I approach each session with deep respect for each dog's individuality, letting their character shape the story we tell together. Inspired by timeless aesthetics and the quiet poetry of connection, I strive to craft fine art dog photography that not only evokes a sense of calm and artistry but also captures the unique spirit of every dog.
My partner in crime
This little red wolf is Kiba, a 5-year-old Japanese Shiba Inu, my greatest inspiration, muse, collegue, closest friend, my soul and the purest embodiment of love.
He was the cherished wish I made at a Japanese temple in Arashiyama during a dark period of loss and sorrow for my passed away family dog. Kiba healed my wounds, pieced together my broken heart, and brought light back into my life. Thanks to him, I no longer felt alone. He helped me overcome my fear of people and led us to wonderful friends all over the world. He reignited my love for art and photography, inspiring me throughout the journey and helping make it my life’s work.
Kiba has long since become more than just a dog, a friend, or a companion - he is a part of my soul, a living reflection of it. I feel our bond so vividly, like a red thread running through the years we’ve spent together. The happiest years of my life!
